So often when I chase down the source of quotes circulating on the internet — it turns out they’re not accurate. Given the topic, this Joseph Campbell quote may as well be true.
The stories we tell about our workplaces illuminate. They describe our “heroes” and how they act. Small details reveal a sense of an organization, an industry, a culture. Is it tough, or forgiving? Humorous and fun, or straight down to work?
How do we succeed? How do we fail?
Stories show, without telling.
Considering real life stories — in the tech community, and also among our veterans — that end in suicide, I’m thinking about the stories we tell.
